  1. I apologize for the large photos. After lacing this, I was a little to lazy to play with photobucket This is made from 6-7oz vegetable tanned leather, lined with minelli leather (sooo soft), the gypsy is a photo I found online, and the flowers are from Peter Main's craftaids.
  2. I usually use a combo of fiebings acrylic dye and regular old acrylic paints from the craft store. Haven't had an issue with either yet. I do suggest with the cheaper ones from the craft store, you might want to go a shade brighter than your intended result if antiquing. Those tend to dull out a little more than the fiebings.
  3. Well done as always Double U! Very clean and neat!
  4. All of the items you added look very nice. It was very nice to see such different designs!
  5. The best part is they were made out of really crappy leather for the "Ugly Leather Contest" SLC was holding.
  6. I say lace. I don't even have a good reason to give you other than I think it would go more with the theme

    Beer koozie

Custom made wedding gift. Two leather tooled beer koozies for a newly married couple. Both are made from 6-7oz leather, hand tooled, lined with foam, and double loop laced.
  8. I was asked to make a matching set of beer koozies for a couple that were married last week. They wanted them to be the same but wanted to be able to tell them apart. I added white foam inside for hers and black for his. I thought it was a cute little project to take on.
  9. In the video it looks like he is using rubber to me. I am sure you could get the same using the veg tanned leather as suggested above.
  10. This is the journal I made using that video.
  11. This guy has a very detailed tutorial. I followed this one last year and it worked really well for me. You can add your own touches to it for the look you want. You will have to go to youtube to get the rest of the videos.
  12. Wow! This is the first time I went to your profile and found your URL. Amazing work all around! Do you tool them before molding? I would assume so, but omg I don't think I could ever get them as centered as you have. They are really great.
  13. Of course you should look into it Double U! If anything the ren faires are a great place to have fun and "sneek peeks" LOL. It is the only place we women can dress a bit naughty and get away with it. I am all about the faires....what more could you ask for? A few shows, leather art work everywhere, hot chicks, cool looking men, and FOOD!! Thanks Double U!
  14. I did a cellphone case with veg tanned leather as the actual cover and lined it with garment leather. I used contact cement to hold it together and then stitched it together about 1/8 in from the edge. I thought they would stay together, but over time the contact cement gave away and now that little 1/8in does look very unfinished. From that point on I have rolled/finished the edges lol. I don't see how the contact cement didn't hold forever, but it didn't. I do know rolling the edges are a pain in the butt, but they have worked for me since. Infact I try not to line too much unless I can double loop lace it in place because it hides that edge. This is all just what "I" do
