welcome to the 45k25 owner's club, if you find a good source of needles let me know and good luck. Did you get a " complete manual "with it , not the flimsy few pages? Take care

Karl I am very happy to have been a very small part of your this worK. All my best wishes and congratulations to your aunt . She has won a momentous battle that speaks highly of her moral strength. The bag is superb , did you thin the leather around the insert windows ? take care Patrick

Thank you Oldtimer I have this manual already, it is the condensed version ( a few pages ) I need the more complete one or the operator one thank you again for taking the time to help All the best Patrick

hello everybody, I finally have my 45K 25 up and running , Humm... running is a tall word , it keeps breaking needles. I am quite sure that it is due to a lack of precision setting of the pressure foot either in height and/or tension? I really need to find the complete manual to know what are those settings . I am willing to pay a reasonable fee to have it emailed or a copy posted to me Thanks again I am getting quite desperate Patrick

Karl, I just tried to answer you but your mail box is full and cant get any new message What about some house cleaning LOL -
Hello Guys and Girls, I have been asked by a dear friend and leather worker extraordinary ( he worked 10 years fro Hermes) to help him clear his stock of snake skins , there are about 20 Karung skins in assorted colours ( about 150 cm long on 25 cm wide immaculate quality) and 100 skins of whip snakes also in assorted colours ( from 50 cm t 100 cm long by 20 cm wide) What would be the best way to sell ? by pieces , by lots , on Ebay or any other auction system. Pictures are available if needed Thanks for your help All the best

If you care to look further afield , you can check Ebay france for round knives made by Blanchard it is superb quality and it is not selling for lots good luck

I would not recommend using stainless steel as you will have more problem keeping your blade sharp and honing to the level you want for a head knife; I think you should use carbon steel for cutting tools with maybe .65 to .85C be carefull of the heat tratment which is very very important 20 ° seems to be too thick you will want a full grind at least at the beginning. I think more knowledgeable guys will answer you with more precision good luck and post pictures Patrick

Jim, Thank you very much , I will immediately ask the seller if the needle stops where one wants,I am not sure that I understand what you mean by pedalling backwards ? the machine was made 1914 just before the beginning of WW1 , in Scotland. you are being very helpful and are lifting my spirit , I hope I will be able to dismount the stand , anyhow I will bring my tools and a trolley and have a go at it . I will post pictures as soon as I get it , and hopefully have it working thanks to all Patrick

Hello Badger, I think I did not express myself properly, it is a treadle machine and it has a cast iron stand holding the treadle , The machine itself can be separated from the stand+treadle but then I still have that big cast iron table loke very heavy thing to carry down LOL so I want to try to take it apart further . Do you like the machine ? anything special it cant do , or I should not do with it ? thanks Patrick

Hello everyone, I have the possibility to acquire a vintage 45K25 , but there is a small hitch. It is the pedal model without motor , but with the complete stand. I have nobody to help me get it ,and it is in the third floor of a house , do you know if the stand can be dismounted into different pieces ? I know I can carry the machine itself , but the stand is a bitch .... And as we are on the subject, anything special i should know about that machine, ? Is it easy to motorize , etc.... Thanks to all Patrick
