They sent me the samples of their thread also. Nice stuff. I just ordered a couple of spools. They seem to be very interested in their customers something that is getting harder and harder to find.

Just wondering if anyone has used embroidery thread that has be bees waxed? I thought I read something about it in this section but for the life of me I can't find it again. Must be on page 899!! LOl! Wondering because there are a lot of color choices that way. Thanks for your help ahead of time!

Thanks, I'll check out that other forum.

I just saw a holster advertised that comes with several different colors of thread. Since I'm new to leather work, is it possible to use thread other than the Tandy stuff to stitch up holsters or whatever?? Thanks for the help!

Has anyone used a press, like a press used for kydex forming or a book press, for molding leather? I have seen a few posting on various forums stating it can be done for greater detail than hand forming the wet leather. Thanks ahead of time for your help.

What is the name of the tool that is used to cut the slot for a belt buckle tongue? It is an oblong cutter but has like a diamond cut-out part in the middle? Thanks.

I am working with a piece of 5-6 ounce for a wallet holster and when I put it in the water I could feel the bubbles (air) coming out in the water and I could see them. Musta' been really dry. Thanks for the information. I'll let you know how it comes out!

Just a question about where to buy heavy duty belt blanks. I am looking for 10-13 ounce. I have seen belts online made from the thicker leather but haven't been able to find it using google. I even got to the "end of the internet" sign and still no luck! Anybody???

I second that. I have dealt with Rob several times and he has always done his best to satisfy my requests. Not to mention he has the best prices!!

Well I tried putting in the website so lets see if it worked! Hopefully!!

Hey, how's everyone doing today? I found this site and because I am sort of a newbie I decided to join to see what I can learn from all the leather heads out there!! I say sort of a newbie because when I was about 14 my Dad got into leather work and he would let me use his tools, under his supervision, so I made several wallets, key chain fobs, etc. So I don't have a lot of knowledge but I am familiar with some techniques. I think they said I can mention my website here so here goes. I make kydex holsters(I know a bad word around leatherworkers) but I have recently incorporated leather into my holsters for IWB carry and am getting into doing some gun belts. Website is lostriverholsters.com. I live in Arco Idaho and some have asked where the devil is Arco Idaho. Short and simple answer is,"where the deer and the antelope roam"!! I have already enjoyed reading some of the forums questions and answers and am looking forward to learning a lot more.
