    Do you stain the inside of the holster too? Or do you worry about it bleeding to your gun. Im not using the best leather now and learning but here is my first 1911 holster. I started leather work 1.5 weeks ago.

    After i put my stain, or finish on the leather should i put something over it or is it ready to go?

    Thank you. That helped alot. I wasnt sure on standerd size of the bibles or how much on each side you went and what you use for the middle. Im not worryed about tooling yet. I have ideas for my first one for my father-in-law. But ill see how that turns out before i do crazy on tooling them.

    Im a horse owner and compete with my horses. I would love to make a nice horse wallet or spur straps for me. A saddle may be a bit out of line though.

    Thanks. I have been tooling on some belly leather i got cheep. I figured why mess up anything good to start with. I did get a wallet in the kit i got to start with so ill start with that. Stupid newby question what is saddle stitch? is that the stitch you see that looks like a sewing machine did it?

    Im wondering what is the best western stuff to start making? Spur straps, Chaps, Chinks? My problem is it will be all hand sewing. Im learning tooling so i would want to put tooling on them too.

    Im new to leather work. Only have been doing it for a few weeks. Im trying to learn the tooling aspect or it and making chaps, and spur straps for now. But am willing to learn all i can.
