The machine is almost brand new. Only problem I have is if I slow the speed of the machine down to far it seems like it loses all its torque. The motor just hums until I bump the hand wheel then it will start. It happens no matter what material I am sewing. I have heard I can change the pulley wheels to get more torque and slow the machine down. Ever heard of this and where I can purchase something like this?
I have a Consew 206rb-5 sewing machine. It will sew through pretty much anything but I was told to use wax thread to sew heavy leather....I am trying to sew a zipper onto thick leather. I was also told no wax thread through the machine. I guess my question is will regular thread and bobbin work? Will it keep everything together? Amy help/advice with sewing is appreciated.
I have seen people online saying custom leather hand tooled seats starting at 700. I guess in the end it is worth what you are will to accept and what someone is willing to offer.
That is what confuses me. Hand carved? I didn't think stingray can be hand carved lol. I was thinking it was an airbrush of some sort. How would you are brush something like that? Just spray whatever design you want...then how would you seal it from the elements?
According to this picture it says hand tooled stingray...is that possible? Any input on how he would have put the color in it? Air brush? Any pointers or advice would be great. Thanks.
Sorry for a stupid question, as I am new to the leather world. As far as color on that seat. Is that just dye? If so, Did you apply it with a paint brush?
Thanks. I will give them a try. On scrap leather I have been practicing drawing lines and using my swivel knife to make smooth flowing cuts. I have been getting better the last 2 are the most recent projects. Just takes a little time. I am not naturally artistic.
Only been doing this for a short time.(2 months). Here are a few of the things I have completed. The dragon is only part way done. I have got it all cut just need to bevel and etc. Share opinions, tips, anything that would help me get better. Thanks
