Hi All, i am wanting to start tooling and was looking for various size tooling patterns. Celtic, gothic, fantasy, mystical, skulls of different sizes. Just looking for things a little different than sheridan and flowers.
I bought some punches round and oblong from Tandy Leather and when they arrived they are blunt and don't cut well. Instead of returning them i would like to know how to sharpen them . I thought maybe a sanding stick of some kind along the bevel to resharpen the cutting edge. Any thought would be greatly appreciated.
May i suggest you contact your local wood turning club or supplier of wood working supplier to see what is available or use, i wood turn as a hobby and when i started out i got loads of advice and was shown how and where to start. Someone in the club maybe able to help design a brace for your kind of turning you wish to do.
Just wondering is there some way to guage how much thread you need to cut when hand sewing something so not to waste too much. i realize this probably has been covered before.
Thanks Nigel

Try some of the knife making websites they use them for kydex sheaths. Maybe they have what you are looking for.
