  9. Very nice, good work for a Rookie!!! If you decide to do alot of spot and shape work. There's a company called Standard Rivet that has a large variety of spots, shapes and stones. They also have a foot operated machine that sets the spots that I have and it works great. I Own A job shop Fab. Company so I made me a table with an adjustable back gage and side stops. Great set up. Good job friend. Contact at standard rivet is Pat.

Finally Finished, 8"/12"/14" 5 interior pockets.
  12. I've made a tote from 3oz. Veg. Tanned leather. I finished it with antiquing gel. It has a tooled/dyed design . I've tried neetsfoot oil in the past and it bleed through to the front and didn't look well. Tried a leather conditioner, lexol, same results. Thanks Harry you can see in the photo on the right side some discoloration caused by conditioner used on inside.
  13. Like the edge work. Clean. Very nice.
  14. I bet she was happy with that. Nice
  15. You do some nice work young man. Great talent and future.
  16. Very nice.
  17. I agree. You can get basic patterns online sites such as Tandy Leather. They also have videos to show you how. For garment and bag material you can use a home machine to sew with. I just posted a tote I'm working on and I'm showing the different steps. It might help. Hey send me the design and I'll make it for you. I'm retired and love projects. I just got on this site so I see your post was in July . My site is Hap's Leather, Harry Phillips. Don't get discourage, get in there and follow your dream.
  18. Tandy has a great book that covers all styles of branding , it has good understandable illustrations. It's called Leather Braiding by Bruce Grant. About 200 pages. Very good and covers it all.
  19. I purchased a ls-1 from sailrite. Love it. They have an Liz-1 that has zig-zag stitching . They also have more professional machine. I sew up to 3/8" thickness no problem. If I could afford it I would get a machine with a servo motor. You can control the speed much better. I modified my foot control with an adjustable stop, that helps me.
  20. Nice stitching there.
  21. Hi, hate to bother you again. Just googled Adler sewing machines and manuals came up.
  22. I find manuals online. As for oiling, take top cover and end covers off. Oil any pivot points and any up and down or rotation points. Some have small holes to put a few drops of oil in.

  24. Yes,very nice and clean. My son says I need to tone my work down, just can't get the Hippie out of me. Nice gallery.
  25. I know what you mean Chuck, it's feathered, it just doesn't show in the photos as much. I'm gonna double check before I antique it. I see some edges that need to be rolled over with a spoon too. Thanks for the heads up,will look it over 1st. Harry
