  1. I'm in Melbourne, Australia, with the majority of machines coming up for sale generally being from Singer, Juki, Typical, Camsew, Mitsubishi and Toyotas...unfortunately Cowboys, Cobras, and Adlers are all rather rare here.
  2. Hi there, As a bit of a newbie to leather sewing machines i'm feeling a bit overwhelmed at the massive range of walking foot machines out there and the potential uses for each. I was just wondering if anyone might be able to tell me if there are any machines that are particularly good for sewing both harnesses/belting leathers as well as slightly thinner boot leathers? I'd say the maximum thickness i'd be dealing with is around 1.5 cm at the most extreme, and probably no less than about 5mm most of the time. If anyone could tell me of any specific models that might be good for this i'd be very grateful.
  3. Hi everyone i've been looking for a source for studs like the ones on this pocket flap for some time and have come up with no results thus far. I was hoping someone on here might be able to help me? The only other place i've seen this exact sort has been on a few of my brother's leather toolbelts.
  4. In a word -Damn, i thought it sounded too good to be true. I suppose i'll just keep saving up until i can afford something that'll actually do the job. Thanks so much for the wise words and advice.
  5. Hi there everyone, I'm just getting ready to hopefully buy my first sewing machine for leather, but before i make the choice, i just want to know whether this is actually a Pfaff Flat Bed machine, and if it is what sort of leather thicknesses you think it would probably be able to handle? Ideally i'm looking for a machine that could handle belt and harness weight leathers. Since i'm only planning on using it fairly occasionally and my budget is somewhat limited it doesnt really make sense for me to buy something brand new, so i'm kind of hoping that the price on this isn't too good to be true...though it seems it could very well be. http://www.ebay.com/...2.M-1161.R3.TR5
