  1. I used that same clipart for a maglight handle i made. http://leatherworker.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=54124&hl=
  2. Here is a pic of the underside. Makes a nice grip.
  3. i used super sheen on the skull to resist dye ( it is the natural leather under), the eco-flo coal black for the outlines of the skull and eco-flo briar brown for the brown. for the actual finish i came back with a light coat of super sheen buffed it and then a nice coat of fiebings aussie leather conditioner. I have done a few of these with different designs, i will have to track them down to get some pics. thank you all for the kind comments, it always means a lot to get applause from other people who work with leather.
  4. Here is a cover for the handle of a 2d maglight I made. It was one of my first tooling projects. To attach it i used a light amount of leather weld to keep it from shifting and wanting to slide off.
  5. yeah the one i made looks like he has an ipad on his side lol. one more thing, when making your template make sure you take into consideration the thickness of your leather and the bends your leather will have to make.
  6. you should be able to look up the specs for the otter case and make your template from that. i made one for an iphone 5 with an otter case and it is huge. one thing i did learn is to make sure it sits a little low that way it doesnt push against the stomach when they sit.
  7. thank you guys. I am going to check into those motors Royal and thank you so much for that manuel Ron, that will be very helpful.
  8. I have a few questions. I bought a techsew ga5-1r from a friend. (I think i got a pretty good deal at $100.) The machine is brand new but doesn't have any paperwork. My question would be does anyone know where i can find a product manuel for this machine? I have checked the techsew webpage but cant find anything other than the assembly for the motor and table which brings me to my next question, What is the best type of motor for someone just starting with machine sewing leather? I have seen the servo motors but don't know anything about them. Like i said i am new to this whole craft so any tips, pointers, or advice would be greatly appreciated.
  9. I went to a granite and marble store in the town i live in and they sell samples for i think it was 25$. The samples are 12X12 and 1 1/2 " thick. Most places will sell you their drop off for cheap.
