Thanks, VanDutch. For this set of bags, I used 6 - 8 ounce black latigo. I hand stitched the gussets.

A fair price for a sweet piece of work! -
Sean, I didn't know either, I tried it with this project and it worked. Not good for a lot of detail, but a simple design will work.

I love the tooling and precise cutting done on the frame. Nicely done. (Of course the pin-up is pretty nice too) Dan

Just Getting Started
Steel Horses replied to dpip4x4's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
I want to thank everyone for the huge amount of information concerning gun molds. I'm not looking for anything in particular at this time, but as custom orders come in, I will be picking some up as I go. Thanks again. Again, fantastic work on the holsters is fantastic! Dan -
Just Getting Started
Steel Horses replied to dpip4x4's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
Do you shape the leather with a vacuum mold, or wet form it. Also do you have gun molds to help with the patterning/shaping? I've been looking for some, but have been unsuccessful. Your work look like an experienced craftsman did them, not a beginner. Very nicely done! Dan -
A Few Holsters
Steel Horses replied to Rohn's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
I was wondering where you get your plastic gun molds? I have had a few inquiries about custom holsters, but I can't make the patterns without having the shape of the fire arm. Beautiful work! Thanks for any help, Dan -
Simply amazing! The attention to detail is so wondrful, I would love to learn how to do such a realistic looking piece

I can manage attaching files, but whenever I attempt to embed the application seems to freeze up and I need to restart the browser page. I think I may not be doing it right. Any help would be appreciated. Dan

Beautiful work! I like the tooling and the edges look really good. What did you use on your edges?

I just wanted to take a minute to say hello and to introduce myself. I'm Dan and I own Steel Horses, a developing online business that focuses on motorcycle accessories. Saddlebags, tool bags, and whatever else I can think of. I have always loved leather working and I am always open to learn new things. I've attached a picture of a seat that I built recently.
