I have to log in and out on my daughter's account because my account has a gazillion extra buttons because I'm a mod. The feedback from you folks helps me a lot! ~J

They call that feature the "lightbox" and I never could get it to work right in all browsers on the old board. I like the way it lets you keep your place (you don't lose the window when you click out of a picture) and it has a pretty good resizer built into the upload feature. Some more cool things are coming...stay tuned! ~J

The "warning panel" has always been there, but it was never visible to members before. Hmmm... We mods use it to log when we ask a member to do something differently. If the situation escalates, we have a clear record of who said what and when that we can take into consideration as we decide what to do next. With almost 30,000 members, in 6 years, we have maybe 25 "warnings", and most of them are one-time honest mistakes or possible spam. That says a lot about how the overwhelming majority of leatherworkers are honest and thoughtful people, here to share and make friends. Thanks for letting me know. If I get a PM from a spammer wondering about their warn panel, at least I'll know what they are talking about! ~J

The board "forgot" a lot of our custom settings after the software update and reverted back to the default ones. I am having to go through each function to change them back. I just added "check the edit button" to the list. Thanks for the heads-up. ~J

Well, you must have gotten logged in, right? LW has gotten very big. The Gallery has more than 16,000 pics in it, and 1200+ folders. Because of a permissions issue, they aren't showing at the moment. I'm trying to find a skin (to get rid of the blue) that still works with mobile devices. We are going to be using a new chat room software that allows us to see who is in there before we click. A spell check is on my list, and so is Tapatalk. I think all the improvements to the board outweight these temporary inconveniences. The board is more secure, and much faster. I think it looks "cleaner", with our favorite function buttons easy to find. I'm sorry for the glitches. I am trying to get everything 100%. I really do appreciate your patience. Johanna

I just wanted to let everyone know that I appreciate everyone's patience during this transition. We just did a major update and a couple of things aren't working properly yet. The Gallery will be back online shortly, and so will our chat room. I have received more PMs about the blue colors- don't worry! That is the software default, and we will paint the place brown again when we get all the glitches squared away. You may notice some changes in the board- here are just some of them: There is a topic preview button now, which allows you to see the first and last response to a thread. There is a handy menu on the left side of the forums to let you read and view content your way. Play with it until you figure out what suits your style. We have eliminated some of the clutter on the board like "see similar posts". If you folks want it back, let me know. You can access your profile by clicking on your name or picture top right, and the drop down menu works properly in all browsers again. The inline notifications have been improved and feature watched topics, pms, replies to status updates. You can set all your preferences in your profile. If you want to contribute to the kitty, please click the subscriptions button. Your account will be credited properly. Contributing "blue" members have additional permissions on the board, more lattitude with uploads, upgraded profiles, can circumvent the delay imposed between posts, have more PM storage and can upload bigger pictures. We also experiment with new features on them from time to time. If anyone is having trouble logging in, please send an email to admin@leatherworker.net and we will get you fixed up. Please report any problems you notice. If you see a way we could do better, we appreciate your suggestions. We want this board to be so easy to use that even our grouchy leatherworkers have to admit it's "not too bad". To us, that is the highest compliment. This board is for you, and your continued participation is what makes this place great. Some members have reported a significant increase in the speed of the pages loading. That's worth the temporary inconvenience right there. None of us have time to wait. I don't miss "The page you requested is loading, click here if you don't want to wait" messages. I'm also curious to know how you are seeing the board on your mobile devices. Is there anything I can do to make that a better experience? Once again, I think we're caught up!

A couple people have commented that the board seems much more responsive and fast. I like all the hover previews (drive your mouse around and explanations pop up, or more detailed views) and the cleaner layout. We want to make this board easy to use YOUR way. That's why all the options are there, but you have to explore and experiement to set your account up to please yourself. I noticed one cool feature this morning- see someone's signature, and it gets on your nerves? You can block a signature displaying without blocking the person. It's the little things like that that make customization possible, and that's what we want to provide- your board, your way. Excuse me, gotta get back to this Gallery thing. Johanna

I am aware of the Gallery permission issue, and we're trying to fix it now. No one wants you to feel foolish or unwelcome. We're trying to give you a functional website to enjoy. Please give us a few days to work out the buggy stuff before you make a decision about us. We're trying very hard to do the best we can for our members. Johanna

Bill, if you go to the main page (which lists all the forums) and scroll down, near the Marketplace you will see the NSFW/ Adult Area. I'm caught up with the new requests too. ~J
