I love it. It's exquisite. How does the strap work? Can it detach? Can it be a shoulder or a handle? I like the buckles as a security measure. If I'm distracted, it would take someone a minute to undo the buckles to steal my laptop. Any interior pockets? If this was posted before, please post the link to the thread. I must have missed it. Love the quilting and the silver accents. Elegant without being too much. Johanna

That was my first thought, too. That looks like stingray to me. What company or person made them? Johanna

Aaron, When we first did the upgrade we had some issues that slowed the forum down, but as far as we know, we corrected them. (One was moving the adserver to a different server.) Are you still experiencing a slow forum in IE? And all your Java updates are current? I am not aware of anyone else with the "slow forum" issue any more, so any details you have will be helpful. Thanks, Johanna

I'm not a FF user, so I don't even want to comment and lead someone astray. The most I do is glance at sites in FF now and then to compare to what I see in IE. Thanks for posting the FF help, guys- you know what works best for you. Aaron, I've been setting up the new Gallery, and I've found settings to customize every thumbnail, regular pic and lightbox pic, but those same settings are nowhere to be found for forum posts and attachments. The old forum did have some settings. I will look around for a mod or ask someone who can write a script for some control of this. The pics that open too big annoy me, also, but I think people upload them that way because they don't know any better. If I could make the forum resize them automatically, they won't need to be taught or encouraged to do it themselves, and we won't be inconvenienced with the pics that would fill a 40 foot projection screen. Thanks, Bob. I always wonder why people post pictures that are bigger than a standard screen? I save the picture (only if I really want to see it) then resize it so that I can see it, at one time. I wish the folks that want to learn how to resize pics would read the threads on the subject and then ask for help if they need it. We all like to look at the pics, and those great big scrollbar pictures aren't any fun. Johanna

Thank you for dropping in to share that with us. Now and then Billy checks in with us- I will make sure he sees your post. Johanna

Fixed.

Yep, I broke the thumbnails somehow when I installed the Gallery. As soon as I fix the thumbnails I'll be able to turn the Gallery on, though. Johanna Don't change your computer's settings- it's not you! It's us.

With the holidays coming up, what leather and leather related goodies would you like Santa to bring you? Do you give a list to your SO, or do you hope your family gets it right? Do you ask for gift certificates? If you could ask Santa for a leather something this year, what would it be? A tool? A hide? A machine? A new laptop to read LW? Do you always wind up with cologne and a tie whether you need them or not? Johanna

There is a TLF (Tandy Leather Factory) in Cleveland. The manager is Jerome Warburton. If you don't want to drive there, UPS would probably deliver overnight. Johanna

It's because that is an old link from when I didn't know any better...and there is a blank space in it. http://leatherworker.net/Head%20Knife.htm is what IE does to it automatically. I will fix it. ooops. Johanna

Leather Finishes....
Johanna replied to Chris B's topic in Dyes, Antiques, Stains, Glues, Waxes, Finishes and Conditioners.
No, you need to seal Antique or it will bleed when it gets wet. Neat Lac and Super Shene give you a shiny finish, Leather Balm w/ Atom Wax lets the work stay more natural looking. I'm going to let the more experienced folks clarify the details- I don't do much in the shop these days. Antique is water based, so it must be sealed. I just wanted to say that before someone goofed up. Johanna -
Studio 2-Dawgs is our very own Kate. She recently revamped Bruce Johnson's and Paul Burnett's site, too. There are more on the way... Kate is not the type to brag, so I will do it for her. She is awesome!! She's been letting me look over her shoulder while she works, and I have learned so much my head could explode. If you want a well designed website that works, get on her list ASAP. Slots are filling fast. Johanna

It works. My kids did the same thing last week. My nine year old said, "Mom, what's "erectile dysfunction"?" HUH? I had to kill a couple of processes in task manager just to get to the desktop, but I ran MBAM from my flash drive on the "parents" account (I should have mentioned to only do this on an administrative account) and it wiped out all the superantiviruspro crap on the reboot. Whew. Johanna
