  1. I like to look at the whole forum for interesting posts when I first start. Doing my research stops me from asking questions that have been answered a thousand times already. And braiding and lacing is what brought me here.
  2. I am looking for one who has worn, or made Bruce Grants "Quick-Draw" Galluses (page 484 Encyclopedia of Rawhide and Leather Braiding). Are they comfortable? Are they as easy to make as they look? I am thinking about making a pair as my first from "scratch" leather project so any advice or insight will be greatly appreciated.
  3. Ok I did a quick image search for British Suspenders and the only thing I saw out of place was to hold up stocking on women. Is this what you mean by suspenders over there?
  4. Just a guess but what if you did an 8 strand braid down each side to the cross bar split 4 from each side to do an 8 strand around the cross bar coming in from either side then use the 4 from the other side to finish the sides and at the bottom interlace your 8 strand braid like you would on a long splice? The hardest part for me to think about is the middle bar I would wrap 4 strands all the way to the other side and work the other 4 through as in fid work.
  5. Beautiful work. What is the cord in the first pic? It looks like Venetian blind cord or lacrosse side wall cord.
  6. Did you ever figure out how to make these?
  7. Thank You Chief, I have been looking for this information for months I had watched your video but could not see well enough to understand what you where doing. I had even tried the classes at the local Tandy (only an hour away) but the instructor did not seem interested in showing this to me just told me to go through the corner hole twice. Again thank you. 8. Electrathon can you please discuss what you see as the exceptions? I know that you agreed to round holes on a bike seat in another thread, but I am not sure exactly why. I got the impression that it had to do with how much strain the leather would be under.
