pearson no 6 lifting foot and pedal install
Yzabel68 replied to Yzabel68's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
Merci encore ! I found out how to install the cable with picks I have found on the net.. I actually thought that it was attached to the back of the lifting pedal foot, but it goes in the front ! I will not for now install the pedal system because since I don't think I will use them they will be in the way, more than being useful. Thanks- 4 replies

I just figured out (hope I am right) how to fix the steel wire to the pedal (thanks to the net and picture there !!!) it goes on the front and not on the back as thought at first !!! I was asking to you about this in a previous message that was never here because when i went to get the picture...my message was gone, anyway. So I ''wired'' the pedal figuring out the stiffness of the pedal, and just wired it snug. It seems to work

Hi ! i have those parts loose in the wax pot have no clue how it goes..they seem pretty old and the entire pot as well as those parts are covered with a layer of hardened deposits of probably cooked wax or something similar. tried again without thread and it is as hard to go thru the leather as with the thread so I will get this needle out and check it and probably replace it !?

Hi ! I am actually trying to install the cable for lifting the foot of my Pearson no 6 (found model no.6HM 335) and maybe the pedal system...but i ain't sure about this part since I may use only the big arm wheel since on my Adler when I use the pedal system ( a big plate) I loose the beat, It ain't easy with the pedals... and then it goes backwards !!! but I was wondering about what height should the pedal of the foot lifter should be from the floor, or should I actually just figure it out with the tension of this cable and the stability of the foot when it down ??? I found some pictures on the net so now I see that it is going in the front part of the lifter pedal (thought it was going on the back rod at first... Sorry if I do not use the proper terms for different parts... I am french Canadian, my English is really good but this is pretty technical... Thank's everybody

I think I tried it un the past without the thread in the needle and it was fairly easy, I will try again to see. Since I didn’t know if things were setup wright I was careful since i don’t want any damage on it. Seems I have to resise my picks, coming soon! thanks alot for all this precious information.

This is it ! It works, thank you so much !!! I was able to do just one stitch thought, the needle was very hard to go through and then the thread stuck but I guess I forgot that the pedAls were not assembled... The wire for lifting the foot is not assembled either I hope that this is why it did that... will work on it this weekend and try to find the way to put this together. I will also check the needle that is on the machine since I was able to find a bunch of em in dad's stuff of different sizes. I have no : 4-5-6-7 and 9... I will make research in needle section to see equivalent of sizes now and thread for them.

Hi ! I have the same question but to put it in... inherited from my dad as well ... and the shuttle was out in a separate box, it doesn’t seem to want to go in but i have no clue what Side it should be placed in and i don’t want to force it, looked in the instructions but no information on this and can’t find pictures either, thanks!

Hi again ! after almost a year of searching for the shuttle-bobin in all my stuff, I finally found it yesterday !!!! It might sound a bit weird, but I have no clue how it goes in the machine ... read most of the instruction, (nicely given by Singermania) and can't find details or a picture, I just don't want to do this wrong and break something. Especially after i saw how much they are for sale on e-bay !!!! If someone could help, it would be greatly apprciated !!! thank you all

Lacing is cool but time consuming, but so beautiful , love to braid as well ''mystery braid'' with 5-7 strands, little more challenging than the regular 3 braids. I have started a pair of Flip Flops !!! It is more steps and time consuming we would think at first.... will post picks ...eventually as work gets done.

Moccasin- Bootie-Shoe Pattern, How To Modify Size
Yzabel68 replied to Yzabel68's topic in Patterns and Templates
Thank's for the suggestion, I have tried this a few years ago but for this pattern it doesn't work ; since it enlarges as much as it elongates it, guess the proportion would be more something like 60 % longer for 40 % wider. I have finally made it though, tried something that looked like it, made a prototype of thick polar like fabric, went to the shoe store and compared it to right size shoe, to my biggest surprise it seemed actually right !! To be followed when done and delivered !!! then I might take time to calculate proportions, but ain't sure that would work everytime.... -
I just saw your Etsy site, your art is beautiful ! Guess I haven't found yet what I really like/want to make and specialize on ... https://www.etsy.com/ca/shop/Robisart

Yzabel68 replied to mrdabeetle's topic in Patterns and Templates
Hi, can't wait either ! This is precious thank's so much to share , it's really appreciated !!! -
I have this pattern I originally got from a popular store, ans I am trying to make it bigger. It is a mocassin pattern for newborn, and I am trying to make bigger ...size 6 infant, the baby is a year old and his foot is a'' little shy from 5 ''. I have looked for normalised charts on the net .. but nothing conclusive, or no US sizes... Would anyone know how to do this properly ? or maybe a chart of somekind or else ??? THis client on my site bought from me a pair when her baby was born last year, now she wants a pair for his first birthday, and she hopes I can make them as he grows up; !!! thank you all !!!
