Hi sinpac! How does this skive? I saw this same Model 30 in great shape on craigslist and I am considering picking it up. Happy with the performance? I need to skive some 13 oz skirting down to an 8 or 9oz. please advise if you can. Your machine looks great!

Yes. you are pushing too hard. Let the machine do the work and do not control it or push. Just guide thats it. When needles break thats a clear indication on this Landis. Be very careful with this. Im not a safety sally but a boot maker on youtube was talking about this in a video and she caught shrapnel to the throat.

I have 3 HUGE boxes of 1.5" strips and bellies galore I want to sell. They vary from 7-10 oz and are all veg tan leather (undyed). Bellies and straps galore. Come take them and please you must pick up becuase they are too massive to ship. I am a gun belt maker and these are strips that are from 20"- 37" in length. Thanks. I want $75 per box. Make offer. I just posted a job listing in my leather belt shop in San Pedro, Ca. (LA Area). This apprenticeship opens up in October 2015 (Seasonal work through Christmas). If you are interested, let me know by sending me work references, a short summary about you and some leather work you have done if any. I am looking for an apprentice that is willing to prove themselves in my shop. You will need to sign a Non-Compete agreement in order to apprentice under me just so you know. Thanks. Francesco

In October I will be needing an apprentice in my leather belt shop to handle the busy Christmas season. Seasonal work that may lead to full time if you are a great fit. Pay will depend on level of experience in leather craft and quality of character. No experience necessary and am willing to train. I have a very solid reputation for high quality work, so you must take pride in your work. NON-NEGOTIABLE. But must have a strong work ethic and good references. No drugs at all will be tolerated. Hi Double C i think the shipping will be more than $25 because the weight is extremely heavy and box is large. OldNSLOW I am a belt maker and usually deal in bigger sizes so this is the end I don't use because they are nit longer than maybe 36-40" total. So it would work for smaller belts, collars, and general straps. Its good stuff. -

Hi guys I have 3 large Home Depot boxes of some bellies and mostly 1.5" veg tan strips of 8-10 oz leather. Only selling because I am cleaning out shop. Please make a Reasonable offer. I am asking $225 for all three boxes. Mixture of Wickett & Craig and American leather direct. Great for straps, collars, etc.

Hi there! It is a Cowboy CB3200. Talk to Ryan Neel at Neel's Saddlery and Harness only IMO. He is the best for timing teh machine and he knows it inside and out. Thank you!! I totally agree 100%. Mass produced products are cheaper because they require no work. They are done by all machines. -
