Hello!

I began working with leather in 2004 with my son Ryan, who was just 9 years old. We started out making hand sewn items from scrap oil tanned leather. After making holiday gifts for all our family members that year, I started selling hand sewn bags at a local boutique. As my bags evolved, so did my interests.

In 2006 I found myself in a blacksmithing course to make a custom handle for my best friend's Tim Burton inspired birthday gift, and somewhere along the way I began making knife sheaths for the bladesmith. This lasted long enough for me to become comfortable with vegetable tanned leather, and a series of seemingly random events led me to creating my first mask.

Making high quality leather cases is rewarding; making creatures with their own personalities, however, is addictive. First they took over my living room, and then they took over my life.

I've been away from Leatherworker.net for several years. My journey has led me down all sorts of unexpected paths, but I always seem to return to this trail eventually. Many people have helped me along the way, and for this I am thankful. It is my hope to share what I've learned, inspire when possible, and to continue learning and growing each day.
