  1. Thank you. If possible I hope to keep the consew as well. The juki is too nice to let go of.
  2. Man that is nice. I'm happy with mine from Atlanta attachment but that price on the kwok hing is awesome. Do you sell any hem attachments? I have a consew 206rb I may try and set up for hemming heavy canvas.
  3. This is the binder. It's a 7/8 and is on a swing away bracket. I'm anxious to try it. Have been for the last two weeks or so since I got it. But I messed up and bought a lemon of a machine.
  4. I purchased a seiko cw8b as a binding machine for my bags. It has a repair quote for as much as I paid for it(never used it). So I think thats a big part in scaring me about a used machine. I wish I had just bought a new machine instead of that one. Although I would love to be able to get. used ones and have them repaired/tuned up for a reasonable cost.
  5. does anyone know if this is a better built machine than a new juki? I'm very skeptical about keeping an old machine running good. but some say the old ones are better made
  6. Oh very cool. I knew consew was a good brand. Now I guess to decide if it's better than my brand new juki 1541s? I can't keep both as I don't have room in my shop. Or possibly store it in case I can ever expand my shop for production type stuff.
  7. I just picked up this machine local from a guy for a pretty good price the other day. From what I can find it will handle very similar stuff to my juki 1541. My question is how goodof a machine is this and how reliable will it be. I swore I wouldn't buy used again after the fiasco I am having with a Seiko, but the deal was too good to pass up.
  8. The top had pre drilled holes that didn't fit my machine, and the top/edge banding wasn't great but it will function properly. So its worth a crap for the money. Im ok with it.
  9. I'll report back when it arrives and post pictures/videos for anyone interested. The main thing that sold me was that they said yes. We can make it work. And that's what I couldn't figure out before talking with them.
  10. Yes sir. I can't figure out how to order from them. Do you know? I'll pay to rush from China if I can order it. Thanks for for the help so far
  11. Ok I've searched as much as I could but can't find the answe so I gotta ask. I found this pfaff 335 binding attachment plate and then matching 90 degree binder. I need something quick to start a binding project. I know the the best route is an attachment company but I need to do this asap and then will wait on the attachment company. Does anyone see any reason this pfaff attachment plate wouldn't fit my seiko? i am ok with modifying it but thought this a better starting option that someone trying to make all from steel. There are many home made binders I've seen and thats all I'm trying to duplicate. No inside corners and will do it very slow and watch each stitch.
  12. On eBay. I bought it. Like $205 shipped. I'll let you know if it's worth a crap come about Wednesday when it arrives.
  13. I am about to buy a seiko cylinder bed machine and want one of those space saver pedestal tables but I cannot for he life of me find much online. This is all I can find. It's bigger than I want but may have to be what I end up with. I need the machine to hang off the end for bag making. There are three images below.
  14. No what I was trying to say about the time is that there's a machine from a company that I've said send me a quote/invoice on and that and let me buy it, that seems to be taking to long so I'm looking elsewhere. I assume it's because they are busy selling multiples and I'm just trying to buy one machine. I'm not mad at them at all. I just need to send my money to someone and get the process going. I respect the time atlanta attachment will take. He never gave me a timeline, but I was again just assuming that it will take some time to set up properly and I'm ok with that. No big deal there.
  15. Let me start by saying I am going to order a binder probably from Atlanta attachment, but I need something faster. I need a cylinder arm machine and it's harder to order than I thought. I have two I want but the companies are slow to get back to me. So I may expand my search and buy a different cylinder arm machine and order my own attachment. But I figure that takes a few weeks to get the material to them and get the binder all set up. I'm just curious if anyone has pictures of something binded using one of the many universal binding attachments I see all over the place. Also so if anyone has a cylinder arm maching they wanna sell get with me. Medium weight preferably as I do a lot of canvas/leather mixed work. And if you already have a machine set up for binding even better.
  16. The Mitsubishi has been rebuilt from a reputable dealer (to my knowledge) who sells a lot of stuff online. I haven't found any bad reviews on the company. It's just set up how I need it for $1000 I just can't scrounge up any more cash. And i will likely make no more than 20 bags with it this year. What machines do you see on Craigslist? Mind sharing a link to then
  17. I have a rebuilt Mitsubishi cu 835 I can buy for $950 with table and motor. I just purchased my juki 1541s a month or so ago so hard to throw it down like that again so soon.
  18. I'm looking to add a cylinder arm machine for bag making. I have a juki 1541 but think the cylinder arm will help a lot and I'll also use it for edge banding. Where can I find a good offbrand machine or more preferably a refurb unit from a reputable shop. Walking foot, minimum 138 thread. That will handle 5oz of leather/canvas mix, and then the edge band. Would like to stay under $1000 if possible
  19. I need a quality edge banding attachment for my juki 1541. I see many that see to be universal but I can't make heads or tails on the quality. I'd rather buy the best for ease of use. Thanks!
  20. Thanks guys. I was thinking the same thing. Somehow it touched the foot too much. I'll adjust when I get the new one.
  21. Last night while sewing, my needle bar thread guide broke. Has anyone had this happen to them? Just curious why it broke. The only think I can think of is that there is too much top thread tension, but the stitches look great on both sides. I have to get one to fix it then I may try loosening up the bobbin tension and re adjusting all looser from there. any input on this is appreciated, this is my first machine. Only a few hrs on it the machine. Juki 1542s sewing a mix of heavy canvas and leather. Thanks, here's the part I gotta buy.
  22. No. I cut the bracket that bolts the 3 bolts to the bottom of the table. You can see it in my 3rd picture
