I bought this Consew 255RB-3 sewing machine brand new in 2017, but I've only used it three times because I prefer sewing by hand. The sewing machine has been sitting in the corner unused. In addition, earlier this year, due to health reasons, it was determined by my doctor to select another craft. I will no longer be able to do leather work. Hello Everyone, I hope you're doing better than I. I'm having a tough time trying to perfect the topstitch, and reverse stitch on the Consew 255RB-3. I'm getting loose stitches on the backside of my leather pieces when I reverse stitch. I'm also having a tough time when I try to resume stitching after I've stopped to make a clean, professional-looking stitch. I realize one of my issues is having control of the machine. But, even with lack of machine control (I'm constantly practicing), the stitches are not up to par. Can anyone offer any suggestions? Lthrz

Clay, Thanks so much for the feedback! Your leather work is AWESOME! Yes, your work demonstrates what I seek to learn, specifically what I saw in the trout. I had been advised by someone in the industry who is just learning the craft that the modeling tool was primarily used, which is why I sought additional information. I would like to know if anyone knows the technique for embossing leather in 3-D? I've seen it once, and would like to learn the art. I call the specific embossing technique "3-D", because the grain side of the leather is actually "peeled" or separated from the flesh side, and exhibits a "relief" (Alto-relievo [high relief]). The main tool used in achieving this technique is the modeling spoon. It would also be helpful if anyone could direct me to, suggest any embossing tutorials, books, an individual or an internet site, which demonstrates the technique. Any information you are willing to provide on the subject, I would much apprciate.
