  1. The needles that came with my Consew 1206rb are marked as "DPx17". Can you tell what that means in terms of style and size? I would like to get some leather point needles that can handle 138 thread (maybe 207) and allowed the thread to fill the holes nicely. Any recommendations? Thanks!
  2. I talked to Bob at Toledo about a flip-down guide for this machine and he said he didn't know of one made that would fit the 1206rb. Just curious if any other 1206rb owners have found a roller guide that works well. thanks
  3. Hey Everyone, Does anyone with a Consew 1206RB have a roller guide installed? If so, could you point me in the direction of the right model? Thanks, CJ
  4. I have two USPS medium flat rate boxes, both filled with leather scrap pieces of varying sizes. Mostly Horween Dublin, Chromexcel, Inferno, and Acadia Autumn Harvest pieces. This is a great way to try different leathers. Plenty of small leather good yield here. $65 shipped for each box. USA Only. Comment or DM to claim!!!!
  5. Hi Guys, I am a newbie looking for my first sewing machine. I was considering taking around $1500 and buying a new industrial sewing machine of some sort. Then I noticed that a Singer Model 15-91 being locally advertised as a leather sewing machine for around $300. Just wondering if that model might be worth considering? I mostly make tote bags, leather belts, and other small to medium sized leather goods. I never exceed anything of 12oz. Any pointers would be appreciated, thanks
  6. Thanks! That looks good, but this make me think #8 is a better option for me.
  7. Hey Guys, Looking to get my first set of Vergez Blanchard irons. I mostly make smaller leather goods (wallets, passport covers, etc) and some tote bags. Not sure which size would be the best place to start. I was thinking the #9 would be a safe set to start out with. Your thoughts? 6 Stitches per Inch - Dist. between teeth 4.5 mm 7 Stitches per Inch - Dist. between teeth 3.9 mm 8 Stitches per Inch - Dist. between teeth 3.4 mm 9 Stitches per Inch - Dist. between teeth 3.0 mm 10 Stitches per Inch - Dist. between teeth 2.7 mm 12 Stitches per Inch - Dist. between teeth 2.5 mm
  8. Hi Guys, Currently doing some tote bags with Horween Dublin and Chromexcel. Just wanted to know, what are you guys polishing or shining your products up with after completing them? Just looking for something to add a little luster to the finished product. thanks, CJ
  9. For me, I found that using a very thin layer of glue did the best job with Dublin.
