Hi folks,

I picked up a Landis 30 and the blade is in need of sharpening.  The PDF I see online says it needs to have a hollow ground edge put on it and I went to the only sharpener I know of in town and they can't do that with their setup for whatever reason.  Does anyone know of someone who does this online I might be able to use for this service?

[Landis SS6 Splitter]

This discussion came up at the right time for me as I just picked up an old Landis 30 I need to tear down and clean up. It splits pretty well but needs to be cleaned and then have the Blade sharpened I think.  I was going to take it to a local tool sharpener and have it professionally done. Is there anything special I need to have them do or is somewhere else recommended?  I saw that it needs to have a hollow ground edge so I assume I tell them that.

Thanks Sylvia.  I thought I had.  And thanks for setting up this whole setup with goldstar.  I tried contacting Buckleguy to see if I could buy a small quantity to test with my press and they wouldn't allow me to do so.  I've also only had issues with ligne 20 from Ohio Travel Bag.  I had no ligne 24 to test with.  All that said, the ones from Goldstar work fine; it's just nice to have options.

I thought I read someone had issues with ligne 20 snaps from Tandy.  Maybe I'm mistaken.  I'm just looking for other potential alternatives to goldstartools snaps.

Has anyone found any other supplier's snaps that work well with this setter? I tried Ohio Travel Bag's ligne 20 and the cap got stuck in the die.  Just wanted to see if there are other options out there.
