  1. Pic. 1. I started the first pair, (the dyed ones), and I felt the leather was too thin for the heavy duty looking hardware. Also, the width on the straps was off about 1/8", which meant they wouldn't fit through the buckles. So, I started over. Pic. 2. Is the new 8/9 oz. leather straps for the suspenders. This leather is a bit to thick, so I am going to have to skive down the ends that get riveted. Instead of the leather "Y", I think I am going to adjoin the three straps at a large brass ring. I haven't totally decided that yet.
  2. I am currently working on a pair for myself. I ended up using myself as a sizing guide and looking at photos on Pintrest. I noticed that the front side of the shoulder straps have lots of room for adjustment. I will try to post a pic or two of my progrsss.
  3. Great job on the cigar case. I think I would like to make a couple as holiday gifts. If I maynask, what size down rods did you use to mold the leather?
  4. If your still looking for a post-bed machine, I have one I would like to sell.
  5. I bought a 7 wood burnisher set off Ebay for $7 or so, the order came from China. The set has various sizes and widths and the shafts are actual screws with a nut to tighten it. The screw/nut combo seem to work loose with vibration, so I put a drop of thread locker on the nut. They work fairly decent for the price! I recommend a multi speed Dremel. As for wearing out your Dremel, the one in my leather shop has been going "bad", for a while but still runs, ithe jus makes a bit of noise.
