Thank you for details. I am working with half bovine full grain leather, so that means this method would work for me too.

Thanks for the suggestion Monica! Can I use it with any leather (also in ready made colours)?

Hello all, A lot of us seem to have one common problem and it is Edge Coating. Currently, I am using Fiebing's Edge Kote and then I apply Fiebing's Tan Kote over it, to prevent edges from colouring arms. BUT, I still get stained hands when the place gets damp. Would anyone, please, give a solution? Thank you in advance, Diana

I will try both methods, thank you all! Diana

I am making them from soft bovine leather, Thor.

Thank you TwinOaks for a great tip. One more time I understand how much there actually is to know about sewing!

That might work well! Thank you all for the advice. Diana

Hello everyone, Recently I asked a question and you were very helpful, thank you I have been working forwards and now, again, I need your advise. I want to put a leather trim around the top of the bag, such as in the picture. One thing I am struggling with is the applying the trim. I know it will take practise, but as we all know, we only get one shot when working with leather. So I wondered maybe somebody have few tips to share on how to apply it. P.S. I want to sew it with sewing machine, not hand stitched. Many thanks, Diana

Thanks Mike for the video. I guess that solves the mystery.

Hello all, Currently I am making my first round handles for a bag. The one thing I am stuck with is sewing the handles together. I have glued them together, but my domestic sewing machine feet is quite wide to sew close to the rope. I have tried zipper foot, but then I can't properly guide it, and pipping presser feet which also isn't guiding. I hope one of you will have a solution and help me and others with a similar question. Thanks, Diana
