  1. Hi Folks, I've finally got my hands on a sewing machine, a Singer 45K48. I'm now looking for a manual for the machine, so far I've googled but with no luck. Anyone know of where I could get one? Thanks in advance Dave
  2. I haven't seen that one. Does it look complicated? My initial idea was to have tapering cups but it was proving to be too difficult.
  3. Some leather cups, for dice games etc What you think? Taken the idea from the German shock cups. Antique tan on exterior with English saddle tan & resolene mix on interior, strangest thing is - they are getting darker by the day.
  4. Hi Folks, looking for info on 3 strand & 4 strand lanyards. Looking to make some dog whistle lanyards for a couple of friends. Anyone got any tips / pointers / tutorials. Greatly appreciated. Dave
  5. Hi Folks, I'm looking for as much info as possible on rocking horse saddles & if anyone knows where I can get them - patterns. Any info is greatly appreciated. Regards Dave
  6. Thanks for the info, looks really good. Definitely think I'm going to give it a try. All the best Dave
  7. Hi, interested in the business card side of it. Do you have any examples? I've got some lovely soft & supple goatskin I think I'll give it a try on that. Cheers Dave
  8. Many thanks Bruce, no e mail details on there though, I presume they just do these cutters? Their site is quite limited. Anyone know of any e mail address for them? Cheers Dave
  9. Thanks for your replies. Luke, do you have a website for The Leather Works? Nothing comes up on ebay at the moment. Cheers Dave
  10. Thanks for your reply. I have the majority of the items you describe; Cutting mat (self healing) Clicker/razor knife Rotary cutter Various squares 1 mtre straight edge Tandy strap cutter One thing i have noticed about the strap cutter (I know they are mass produced) but the scale doesn't even match up with the blade position, in this case if you wanted a 1" strap this cutter would cut 1 1/8", I even considered Tandy's metal strap cutter but.........................what if the scale was wrong on that too!! Cheers Dave
  11. Hi Folks, I currently have the mk 1 cutting knife!! Plus a Tandy strap cutter which, so far is ok on thicker leather but on the thinner ones it's absolutely terrible - I've wasted more leather using it!! Does anyone have any suggestions for a good cutter, hand operated. It seems that the older leatherworking tools must all be in a museum here in UK so if you have any suppliers I'd be grateful. Many thanks Dave
  12. That's why they use these locator things, saves on hours of digging.
  13. Hi, peopleover here use them with the ferret locators when rabbiting, I think it's illegal over in the states isn't it (not sure though), loads of ferreters over here, it's a growing hobby. I've also made this for someones dog; along with these for the owner; Cheers Dave
