Hi all!! I’m buying a Singer 18-2 this week for $400 from a local fellow. Nice lefty machine that will come in handy in my shop and help me sew up my falconry gloves. Most of my gloves are left handed and this will allow me to sew them well keeping the glove under the roller foot while sewing. He also offered me first right of refusal on a singer 7-14. I’ve done some research and it’s a beast. I could defiantly put it to good use. Can anyone offer details on the machine before I see it and test drive it? Lots of information on here for the 7-33 but not too much on the 7-14. thanks in advance.

Hi all, Sorry for the late reply to your comments, I’ve been knocked down by the flu but thankfully it wasn’t the CORONA!! Tested negative. Thanks for the great responses. You guys are the best. Definitely an oddball needle size for sure. I’m gonna try some 16 or 31 class needles and adjust if needed. Got the machine for free and had to order a needle bar for it since it was missing. I’m hoping I can utilize something that will work if I tweak the head a little bit. If I can getting it working it will be a fine addition to my falconry glove process for sure. Will post back if I find needles that work

Hi all, I have a singer 44-81 glove machine, the one that sews and trims the leather close to the sewn edge. The Singer manual states it uses 16 x 97 Needles and I can not locate any. I’ve tried my local sources only to be told they have never heard of this size. Does anyone have a lead on needles or any assistance they could offer up. It would be much appreciated as I have this machine to make falconry gloves and I’m really looking forward to seeing what it can achieve. Thanks in advance!

I’m using CSB69 thread and a 110/18 leather needle. Tried rerouting the thread as recommended but still no luck. The thread is sewing correctly on the top but the bottom bobbin thread is all over the place. I am going to make another attempt at timing the machine tomorrow to see if anything changes. When it’s working it’s a lovely machine but this nonsense is driving me crazy. It has brought my sewing to a screeching halt.

Hi all, I need some help form anyone that has had issues with their Singer 211G155. My singer I recently bought works quite well and I completed a falconry bag yesterday but with some issues. My machine will sew beautifully for a while but then the threads tangle around the bobbin case and bring things to a quick halt. I have tried the usual things such as rethread the machine, change out the needle, different feet, adjust foot pressure, stitch length, etc. It will still continues to do it. but then it starts working normally again but always ends up with the same problem happening again. I have adjusted the bobbin case and timing according to the service manual with small gains in workability but it always ends up happening. does anyone have any ideas for me?? I could really use your guidance.

Hi Becky, I can make you a female peregrine hood for your girl. I make various types of falconry gear from all types of leather. Hoods, gloves, bags, vests, anklets, jesses, hood protectors, lures, even walkets for falconry hunting ID. Are you looking for a hood with tooling and designs that would complement shows and photo shoots or a regular field hood that will take lots of abuse? Here is some of my work.
