  1. Hello Shoepatcher,

I think my Claes 8436-30 is missing a part in/around the bobbin winder - there is a bolt on the machine side with flattened sides, but there doesn;t seem to be any parts that mate with the flat edges. Could you post some pics of bobbin winder parts? I might have just put mine back together wrong. The parts schematics I have don't really help, as I can't visualize the parts the diagrams outlines.

    Thanks for any info,

    Stephen

see attached. I was communicating with the manufacturer as well, they sent me pics from a new machine.

here's an album of the pics, https://photos.app.goo.gl/jYhXJVyTMSDUfPkd8

It doesn't look like I am actually missing anything more serious than a nut on the back of each of the bolts. The rear bolt on the newer machines are smooth and are held in with a set screw. Mine is threaded in. I think I understand now, the flat sides of that bolt are so you can use a wrench to get it on.

It does appear that the bracket that mounts to the machine has a slight bend in it, not 90deg - that could have happened in transit, and would definitely stop the runner tire from reaching the main wheel.

Do you see anything else that is a concern?

      Thanks,

      Stephen
