  1. I just made a set of six jigsaw puzzle coasters with a stand for a customer's graduation party and I must say I'm happy with the result! The gift was very well received and I hope the coasters get used often so they can develop that great patina. They are made with 3mm thick vegetable tanned leather and they measure about 9cm in diameter. If you want to make these here is a link to the pattern and instructions. There are files for both EU and US printers, and a separate file for laser cutters as well: https://farfarsyxaleather.etsy.com/listing/1561199809
  2. This leather project has been on my list for a very long time and honestly I was sort of intimidated by it even though I knew all the steps to making it. It was not at all difficult though and was a very fun project and now I can drink my whiskey like a real adventurer! I used 3mm vegtan leather and the final product holds about 200-250ml (7-8,5oz) of whiskey. If you want to make this shape of costrel, there is a pattern with instructions, and even a file for laser cutters here: https://www.etsy.com/se-en/listing/1531790412/pdf-pattern-leather-costrelflaskbottle
  3. I've just finished version 2.0 of my deck box pattern and am really quite pleased with the newer version. The deck box pattern comes in four sizes which fit the following amount of cards: Deck box size S fits 80 single sleeved cards or 40 double sleeved cards. Deck box size M fits 100 single sleeved cards or 50 double sleeved cards. Deck box size L fits 120 single sleeved cards or 60 double sleeved cards. Deck box size XL fits 160 single sleeved cards or 80 double sleeved cards. For each of the four sizes of deck boxes you can decide if you want a rounded or more angular top flap and front. The pattern is designed with no stitching so it is both easier to make and requires much less time. Very few specific leatherworking tools are required which makes this project great for a beginner as well as a more experienced leatherworker. You get the pattern as well as a separate document with three pages of detailed and easy to follow instructions on how to prepare and how to assemble the deck box. You can also look at this video that shows how to make the deck box: https://youtu.be/iCSj0P5jemI The pattern comes in four printing sizes: a3 and a4 for Europeans and tabloid size and letter size (8.5x11) for Americans. You can find the pattern here if you're interested: https://www.etsy.com/listing/684965387/pattern-leather-deck-box-or-card-case-in

  5. Thank you! The axe used to belong to my grandpa's and it reminds me to strive towards making my leather items to the quality that they can last long enough to gift to the coming generation. The name of my shop is Farfars Yxa, meaning Grandpa's Axe in Swedish.
  6. After a few months working on it on and off, my toolboard is finally up on the wall again so I can almost call the workplace done! I just need to get a feel for the area and get it "lived in" and see if I need to move things around before I bolt for example the arbor press onto the table. I also need to cut a hole for cables to run through. The workplace has four different sections which are from left to right: dying and drying (not really pictured that well), tooling, cutting and assembling, hot stamping with the arbor press and burnishing. I also have a separate desk off to the side where I have photo equipment set up for shooting future videos and taking product photos. It feels awesome! Can't wait to get back to working! I built the desks myself using a 28mm thick, 650 mm deep countertop onto a frame that is bolted into the walls so I need only a few table legs for support. The legs are at a 45 degree angle so I have the maximum amount of room while I roll around on my chair. I wanted the desk to be sturdy enough so it wouldn't move at all when I for example bang away with my mallet or do the occasional tooling and both me and the missus can stand on them without difficulty so I am very satisfied!
  7. A quick video on how to make a no sewing required type of deck box. Have a look if you're interested! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iCSj0P5jemI&t=
  8. Hey all, If you're interested, I have a shop over on Etsy where I sell a good variety of patterns and tutorials. You can see for yourself here but otherwise the patterns include: customizable minimalist wallet, dopp kit, apron, beer carrier, a variety of pouches, axe holster, dice trays and dice cup, mouse pad, pen roll, valet trays, glasses case and a nice cigar case. Have a look! Patterns are in EU format as well as US paper format. Enjoy!
  9. Good point! I'll see what I can come up with! That would certainly add an extra touch to the carrier.
  10. Hi everyone! I just recently discovered this forum and it seems like there are a great deal of nice patterns here! Super excited to try them out! Leatherworking has been my hobby for a few years now and I've created a few patterns of my own that I thought I could share with you all. I originally wanted to sell my finished products on Etsy but after I discovered that the shipping from Sweden is ridiculously expensive for anything larger than a medium sized item, I decided to sell patterns insted. Here is my beer carrier pattern, which I am rather proud of since it took a long time to figure out. I am a teacher so hopefully the instructions and pictures are clear enough. If not, I'll hang my head low, feel a bit ashamed and then gladly take any constructive criticism. Also, if you have any tips of items you would like to see a pattern of, let me know! Cheers
