Recent project I just finished for a guy out in California that does competitive paintball. Definitely a challenge to make everything fit and be comfortable with the size of the paintball guns. Everything was hand stitched definitely need to get a machine. All veg tan 5/6 and 8/9 oz leather. Used 1mm thread from makers leather supply awesome thread, and can’t beat the price. Fiebings russet brown dye. Antique copper hardware from tandy. Had a great time designing this and working with the customer. Hope for many more projects like this in the future.

I was trying to get a wood stock for the picture but you know how thinks go. Lipstick on a pig. Rohn I agree. Any you can suggest I’m all ears I’m still buying tools a few at a time, and still pretty new to this started in March of this year and I try to learn something from each project so I can make the next one better

Chris I’ll give that a try in the future thanks

Yes he wanted something with a bit more angle so he could wear on his hip but also behind his hip at the 4:00 position. So that’s what he got.
I took my time on the edges since I had already put so much work on everything else. And thank for all the compliments. I’ve only started doing leather in March so every project I learn something new and it nice to have the positive reinforcement from this great community. I’ve learned so much from just reading through all the content on this site. I can only imagine the struggles craftsman had before the internet and YouTube.

Customer wants a shoulder holster. But I could modify any pattern if I could get my hands on one.

The back panel is box stitched to the rest of the box and it was glued first. no glue where the Lacing is. But the picture showing the back of the box is not the same one from above. For some reason I don’t have a picture of the back of the one I did for myself. But still the same process

Now look what you’ve done guess I better get started.

So this is another shotgun cartridge pouch/case I just finished made this one for myself. 6oz veg and 8oz oil tanned for the back panel made my own lace from goat veg. Inlay with some embossed croc from a Brahmin brand purse I picked up at goodwill for $3. Has a fold down strap to keep your shells from falling out as well.

I see what your saying now I like that idea as well. Maybe on revision 2 I’ll make a strap that pivots out of the way. Thanks for the input always open to suggestions

Shell pouch in action here’s a vid of the pouch and strap. It’s super smooth. Attached at the back with a screw post and Teflon washer and the closure is 2 1” neodymium magnates. I was a little skeptical myself when he said he wanted a strap on it. But sometimes things just work out.

Many times simple is the most effective solution

Thanks for the feedback. Looking at it now the few spaces in the stitching do stick out. And for the beveling it does look choppy in the photo but in person it’s not. All and all he got a great discount on the wallet (temporary disability for the last 3 months due to stomach cancer) and I covered my material cost and and a bit on my time. Plus he seems happy with it I think he showed just about everyone at work the day he got it.

5oz for the outer shell and the inside is 2 or 3 oz goat like 1.2 mill. But I card or slick the shell pretty good before I start cutting and tooling seem to give a better over all look and feel to the leather. Really tightens the grain up and ends up thinning it a bit as well.

Thank y’all for the compliments. Yes it definitely took some planning and forward thinking about how I wanted everything to attach and not to bulky. I think I got a little lucky also this was my first attempt at a shoulder holster.
