  1. I am wandering how you all mold sight channels. Some of the holsters I have made the front sight drags. I have thought about a stiched channel, I am not sure how to go about it. Any help or insight would be great. In the past I have taped a dowel rod to the top of the slide, that did not work to well as the rod would move when I applied pressure.
  2. Welcome! I live about an hour south of springfield. I used to shoot CAS in wilard, one thing lead to another and haven't made it back. It is good to see some other ozark folks on here. Bryant Creek Butch a.k.a Jeremiah
  3. Ed, Dave told me to adjust both tension knobs in equal amounts and sew 6" to 8" at a time and keep adjusting a needed. It was a simple error on my part. You have to be smarter than the equipment you work with. This is my first sewing machine and need more practice. Jeremiah
  4. Thanks for all your help every one. I called Dave and within a few minutes the problem was solved. One day I'll try different thread in the bobbin, but need a little more funds to buy more thread. Again thanks. Jeremiah
  5. I am having trouble getting the tension right when I am sewing light a heavy pieces of leather together. I am working on a set of chinks and the top stiching looks good but the bottom don't look right. Do I need to use different sizes of thread in the bobbin? Right now I use Linhanyl #277 bonded nylon. Any help would be appreciated. Jeremiah
  6. I am a little slow to responed, but here goes. At present time I am a butcher three days a week, a VA rep for two, a full time dad and husband, and a leather fanatic 24/7. Before all that I was a paratrooper in the army for four years until an unfortunate incident with the ground a fast blowing wind. Jeremiah
  7. Hello, I am some what new to the fourm. I have been reading the posts for a few weeks now and like it all. I have been doing leather work for around four years now, the last two I have been a little more serious about it. I have a small room in my house that has started to spill out in the rest of the house. I hope some day I will be able to start a business. In the near future I would like to build a saddle, but being I am not a cowboy I am not sure how it will go. I plan on trying to post a few picture of my work sometime it will take awhile due to I live out in the sticks and have very slow internet. Until next time, Jeremiah
