  1. Thank you Johanna. I am somewhat relieved. I was surprised when the Tandy employee told me this and remained in doubt.
  2. I was told yesterday by a gentleman that works for Tandy, that they acquired Leatherwork.net. Is this true? Respectfully Paul
  3. I send a letter to the CEO of Tandy 10 days ago without receiving even the simplest of a courtesy response. I have had better response from fortune 100 ad 200 CEOs. This is very disappointing, as the trace shows it was received. On another note, there is no rapant outbreak of hospitalized cases in FL like the media is trying to spin it. I have a lot of friends in the medical field here. Covid is not the issue and at least in this area is a false narrative. If you go in for a cough, they check COVID-19. I have personal friends that were not even tested, because they ran out of materials that were diagnosed COVID-19. The schools have been open in foreign countries for months with no deaths or serious cases of illness or death. The facilities receive $10K to $40K for every case they identify, based on nothing more than an opinion according to CDC Guidelines.
  4. I sent an email to the CEO of Tandy Leather yesterday. Curious to see how long it takes to get a reply.
  5. It makes sense not to open Miami, as they in general ignore anything the government tells them to do. Tampa has been open for weeks and that is an area not much different than Miami in population. Then you have little quiet WPB in comparison. It makes no sense. I did call and leave a message. I informed them several times it was impacting our community leather work classes. I also checked with local officials and there is no restriction on their business like they said there was. I just want some honesty. If they need help reopening, we will help them. Thank you for your responses.
  6. Folks, I have been trying to get an answer from Tandy on their WPB FL store opening. They stopped responding to my inquiries and blocked me from messaging or commenting on their FB site. This without notice. I was very friendly and inquired about once every week. The puzzling part is they told me it was closed to state restrictions. The one in Tampa a Covid hotspot has been opened for over a month. All other businesses, restaurants, gyms and craft stores are open for well over a month now. I occasionally make a trip down to the store about 30 miles from where I live There are lights on in the place and a video running. Someone is going in there periodically and the store is fully stocked. Any ideas? Anyone with this same similar issue. I need a local supplier/partner.
  7. Blue Duck, Thanks, I actually have not purchased any as of this time, but I will check them out. I am looking for a good inexpensive leather sewing machine before I embark on this. Thanks again
  8. Thank you. I updated profile with my location. Regarding the zippers. My elderly mother is going to sew these in for me, due to my physical impairments. I don't have the strength and control in my hands to assemble bulk zippers. I can work with the leather like hand lace/sew and tool, but only for maybe 5 minutes at a time then I need to rest for an hour or two. 4" nylon zipper is what was used in the kit. Thank you all again.
  9. Folks, Thank you all for the replies. I am located in Palm Beach County FL.
  10. About 28 years back, I purchased a bag of blanks from my local Tandy store. I was going to use them for practice. Well I came across them and decided to try and make them as purses and give them away. I have like 22 pre-cut and punched sets, but no zippers. I am looking for zippers. The top area of the purse measure 4" where the zipper mechanism would go. I don't know if I need a 4" or 5". Regardless I cannot locate a vendor that sells this size zipper. I believe the zipper is nylon. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  11. Thank you both. This is much appreciated.
  12. Now looking for a source like the picture I originally posted. I need the rivet setter type Sam Browne not the screw on type. Thank you.
  13. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  14. I have a ministry and I need a good source for inexpensive leather supplies to make leather journals for our volunteers. I would also appreciate some suggestions on journal patterns/designs/templates and sources for refills. I am in Palm Beach County Florida. Thank you
  15. Amy, So sorry you haven't been able to get to the machine. What model is the Glowforge? They have 3 and don't want to go with biggest and baddest if there is no need to. Thanks again P.S. I have a condition similar to yours that they have not been able to diagnose. It has the symptoms of Lupus and ME/CFS. Do you knhow AmyK, Thank you. It has been almost a year now. Do you still like the Glowforge? I heard it can ignite items. Can you really just use it to scan one image and then replicate that same image on the media easily? Also interested in reliability. I am disabled and can't carve leather very good anymore. I wanted to use it to cut multiple shapes like coasters and then carve the basic design. I can then go in with my craftools and finish. Thank you very much

  17. Gary, DUDE! You found the original acorn style. So cool. The German Luger holsters and other use the rounded, but these acorns are the ticket. Pricey, but the ticket. Thank you. DJole, Thank you for your efforts and for the recommendation of the period groups. There is one I am familiar with called Florida Frontiersman. I will reach out to them as well. Thanks ALL.
  18. These are what the originals look like. Just FYI. Thanks again all.
  19. DJole and Rockoboy Thank you. Unfortunately they don't have it either. I may have to have these made. I really appreciate your efforts Thanks
  20. Folks, Can anyone please tell me where I might be able to find these? Tandy used to sell them, but they now have less authentic ones and one the name Sam Browne. I really want to keep items authentic looking. Thank you all in advance.
