  4. I actually did consider that but I've never actually met the customer so I went with the safest route, she could have extra wide or narrow hips, good thinking though! Here is the finished product

  11. Thanks for all the responses and advice! I'm going to make a belt without a lining to see how it turns out, but I agree that an unlined belt feels unfinished so we'll see. Right now I'm basically doing this for a living so any cost cuts without compromising quality is a win for me, i also thought of giving my customers a choice that way they knew what they were getting from jump...
  12. Most of the belts I make are colorful womens dress belts, I'd always line a men's belt that would be used for "duty". I was asking more for esthetics, do most people who aren't using it for holsters care if its lined or not?
  13. Okay I'm sure this question has been asked 100 times but here goes anyway, I make alot of purse straps and belts.....is it really necessary to line them? I could get twice the straps out of a side if I didn't us 2 pieces of leather...thoughts? Advice? Thanks
  14. Continue turning the leather and alternating stamping on each side of the line, carefully keep the stamp on the line each time and the edge of the tool in the groove of the previous impression, once you are all the way across the area you want to stamp you should have 2 rows of stamps. To make your next row, align the stamp into the grooves of the previous row and continue moving to the next space, then the next until you reach the end Then just keep adding rows until you've covered the whole area! Hope that wasn't too confusing
  15. Next line the side of your stamp up on the line and make your first impression Flip the leather around and line the stamp up on the opposite side of the line and the previous impression
  16. Start by drawing a line on the leather at the angle you want your basket weave to go
