  1. Belts are Greek to me, I replace like for like in past. Add in I'm UK based vs NA. I have a bunch of numbers and letters on the belt. I only plan to buy a meter of 6mil and 7mil PU. As I have read 8 is too big. 1190/Z 46 114 33 Matched Set CEB0561
  2. Any tips for someone to do this... I recently bought a machine and the current 10mil V belt twists for about 6 inches AND only at the guard end at top. Spoke with the mechanic who serviced it prior to me buying. He didn't want to take any responsibility as machine worked fine. I asked a few more questions over the phone. He put the new belt on and admits the belt is the wrong thickness but he realigned the servo motor that someone else put on the table for the machine (Global SR 9929). Told me it should be a leather belt but they don't work with servo motors and it should be an 8 mil belt. He said he didn't run the machine for long when he did service it but he fixed the noise. I asked what the noise was, and it was the belt hitting the guard at the top. He claims he will send me the correct sized belt & then adjust the motor underneath (which I don't get from his explanation over the phone). I chatted with a colleague in Canada (who said this was the best decision they made to switch, have not had problem with belts since and rare to replace) who does the same work and uses similar machines and told me about these belt you melt. Found out what and then found the thread in group. I want to switch to the PU belt, from needing I need to go with rough (green) vs smooth (red). Just not sure if I need 6mil or 8mil. And how do I best measure the size I need, do I mirror off the existing belt when I take it off?
  3. That looks awesome. I just got same machine and needing to get all the binding items. On your other post was it the four items that Uwe Posted that you needed or can you share what KHSew stuff you purchased? I have bought from them before for my Seiko.
  4. Hi Thomas, Did you have success conversion into a binder? I just acquired one and want to do the same. Cheers, Emery
  5. Thank you, I found yesterday and today that once I get to a UK dealer, they actually can't help me and pass me off to someone else. And I'm still waiting to hear back from a few I contacted weeks ago and followed up with a phone call. I've got a business to run and if someone doesn't want my business or acknowledge my attempts to contact. Then I move onto other options and they miss a sale. Might have been best thing right now as I have stumbled across a patcher and a synchronized binder cylinder arm from a private seller who closed their business and is getting them serviced. I can sell my cylinder arm as its not a synchronized one and I need to be able to do binding work on some projects. I use this site to research the machines as choices here are limited.
  6. Hello, I'm based in the UK and I have been looking for an industrial patcher: global 9929, Pfaff 8346, techsew 2900L, Claes 8346, type of machine. I don't need a motor as the electrics are different. I would need freight over to the UK, so it would need to be well packed It does not need to be new, I'm fine with a used as long as in working condition and no issues. Maybe there are other members from the UK on this forum and have some insight of where I could possibly find one. Thank you.
