My name is Kris, I am 24years old ((born1991)) I live with my sister, and great aunt and uncle, I live in Sierra Vista AZ my zip is 85650 but the city zip is 85635, I am currently unemploied, I still can not Drive as life currently has not permitted me to aquire that skill yet ((fancy way of saying I have not had the time to even get my permit.....great uncles a freaking slave driver.)) but I'm a hard worker with a few eccentricities, if you can look past them or ignore or even maybe accept them I'm sure we could actully grow to be good friends! I need a job close to home, preferabbly in this city but IF needed or availble or even offered I have no issues with moving in, or moving closer. I need the job so that I can earn money with out actully working ((after all, if you are doing what you love/enjoy then you never work a day in your life!)) and it will even enable me to move out at some point. please call or text me at 520-559-0095 if you would like to talk and possibly even meet up. and if your currious or are willing to maybe see if you can look past, ignore or possibly accept my eccentricities don't be afraid to ask about them!

So in an effort to get help in my high peak times I am floating an idea around the web. I am a one man show that really needs two ! If anyone knows of an experienced saddle maker (English type)that might be laid off or looking for a change from the same old same old or someone looking to immigrate to Canada and wants to test the waters. Maybe you are experienced in one area of the leather trade and want to expand your knowledge base ? Maybe you have just graduated from a saddlery program and need some real world experience ? The idea is basically that I want to invite a qualified person to come work with me for short periods of time. We learn from each other, make a few saddles, make a little bit of money and learn about each others culture. If this sounds appealing to you or someone you know please let me know. I will provide more details to anyone seriously interested. Thank you for your time and positive feedback. Hello! After much deliberation and nail-biting, I decided to finally make an account and post this. Leatherworking and all aspects of it has been something that has fascinated me since before I can remember. I come from a large family full of carpenters, gardeners, seamstresses, and mechanics so it doesn't surprise me too much. I would love nothing more than to learn all that I possibly could, and then some, but I have been having a hard time finding local groups or gatherings that I could attend to start learning the basics. I am nervous about self-starting in my home because I don't want to learn bad habits or incorrect techniques. I want to be in it for the long haul as I plan on pursuing leathercraft as something more than a hobby, so I would like my foundation to be rock solid and not built on youtube when I have no idea what I'm doing. I am hoping that someone on here knows about a group or the like in Olympia, WA or the surrounding areas (I can go pretty far I think) that I could attend to learn. I would also not be against working for free (what am I saying, knowledge is worth more than money) for someone who has a shop or similar area type, just to be able to watch and learn and maybe soak up some of your expertise. Heck, I'd even bring along some homemade baked goods to show my appreciation. I worked in a hospital for a little over two years so I can tackle any cleaning that needs to be done. Whether it be a group or a class or a person looking for some free labor (and some delicious baked goods), I would love to hear about what I can do to start learning this craft with the proper guidance. Thank you so much for reading this, and please feel free to ask any questions or give any pointers! - Cass

Hi! I'm completely excited about leatherworking and have only found one class here in Los Angeles at SBSTrading. I am free almost all the time, willing to drive (maybe even relocate) for an opportunity to make leather clothing or watch you do it! I will sweep, help customers, whatever you need. I'm a great worker! I have experience with industrial machines. I made hats in a shop for a year and have sewn for myself and friends. I live in Tujunga and am ideally looking for something in Los Angeles or maybe eventually Portland Oregon? (I own a house in L.A. so a move could take me a little while). I am taking classes in Fashion and Costuming at a local college.

Dragonthorn Leatherworks is looking for a “CUSTOM LEATHER WORK APPRENTICE”; OK, I admit it, I am so slammed. Shifted from doing all of this part time to full time. Thought that would give me the time to work on various projects and get them done quicker. Only problem is that I now have even more projects!? I know, good problem to have. Here’s the deal… I am located in the Piedmont Triad Area of North Carolina. The shop is specifically in Greensboro, NC. Need someone interested in learning the art of custom leather craft. Part time, full time let’s talk. One heck of an opportunity for somebody. I’ve even been thinking about how we could do this long distance but have not come up with any decent ideas yet. If you are interested send me an email. You can reach me from the contact page from the menu bar or by clicking here. Lets chat. DH

Greetings everyone just wanted to introduce myself and say hello to the community. I had decided to take my imagination and set it into work into something. Got myself a starter kit from Tandy Leathers and I'm hooked. I just a beginner and slowly building up my tools and knowledge of the craft. I hoping to continue to learn and hopefully find someone in my area who would be willing to teach me and help me grow as a leather worker. But in the meanwhile greetings and well met.
