Members Abelc Posted March 15, 2022 Members Report Posted March 15, 2022 In may i did this, for a friend, for her birthday, From a pattern i bought. It was my second thing done in Leather. Dyed with Fiebing's Light tan (i think) (50/50 with denatured alcohol). Used Antique over the Artes. Belenos and Xana (Friends name). Finished with 3 coats of resolene 50/50, i think. Used tokonole, and quite a bit of edge sanding for edges. Also applied tokonole in the flesh, inside, after dyeing, doing letters, antique etc, i think. The stiching and edges could be better, but well, it is my second project , i think its great for a novice. Quote
Members AlamoJoe2002 Posted April 20, 2022 Members Report Posted April 20, 2022 Nice start. Looks like my first trys at stitching. I went and bought a set of 3mm or 4mm stiching irons. And started practicing. I see you have a stitching pony? A definite must for me. Quote
Members DJole Posted April 20, 2022 Members Report Posted April 20, 2022 Nice work for an early project! The blue stone laced in is a great personal touch. I think the leather you used for this project was too thick-- hard to make sharp bends and good stitching holes in that thickness. Learning to skive is an important skill, too. Quote \D.
