Thanks Johanna and everyone else for taking the time to post all those pictures and sharing a little bit of the experience...I know how overwhelming a show like that can be. I understand the show next year is a little closer to home, and I may have to make it a point to go, if only for the inspiration.

Marion,

Come to our guild meeting on the 13th of Nov. 7PM @ Hide Crafter Leather Co. It's always the 2nd Tues of the month. We share a lot of ideas and you can use the class room on Sat. fro 9:30 to Noon to work on developing your talent in leathercraft.

Thanks for the invite John, I may come in Tues. On Sat. I teach the lacing class at Tandy across the street. (One Sat a month), but it happens to be that Saturday.

The only problem with the whole show is I DIDN'T FIND JOHANNA!!!!! With all those pictures you took, Jo, I should have found you somewhere, you were everywhere that I was! You did take some nice pictures of our guild display table, Columbine Leather Guild. You just didn't get one with the Taveling Trophey that we won. I'm sure we won it because of my yak hide.

Peter Main won the world competition with that beautiful angel. Roz Kahon took third with her cute wizzard scene, but I don't know who took second. I don't even know who took Best of Show in the guild competition. I wish they would let us see the winners during the day so we know what won.

Freak, I hope you enjoy all those leather pictures you heisted when you were pretending to help me load the car. Clay wonders why I haven't mailed them back to him yet. He thinks I'm working too hard!

Happy yak pounding!

Tell the truth, Kathy. The only reason it won was because of that fabulous piece that just happened to be passing through your clutches during the time of the occasion! ;)

I must admit, Dale, that little bitty piece did attract a lot of attention! But how can you compete with a beautiful hide from a rotten bull yak?

My question Kathy is how did you fit that traveling trophy in your CRV? That thing is huge and takes up a lot of space and Pat said that he wasn't sure how you were going to get it home. Joe

Joe, you'd be surprised what you can fit in when you really want to! I wonder if Pat has noticed that we don't have his suitcase any longer.

LOL! Is that the one I saw outside of Amarillo along side the road? Must have fallen off the top of the car. Seriously, we left before you, right after the deligates meeting. Decided to spend the night in Amarillo and get up early the next morning, but over slept. Just as well because of the snow on Raton Pass. Congratulations on winning the best display. Joe

I think our Vera took second place in the world competition. Congrats to Columbine for winning the traveling trophy! There was stiff competition, and I'm glad I didn't have to vote. Indiana sure has a nice display, so does Lonestar and a few others.

Roz Short Kaohn (the dragon lady) had a vendor table set up, quite a bit of work on the Ozark guild table, as well as pieces in competition. Peter's work is pretty, but no one beats Roz for "interesting". The more you look, the more you see.
