Hello all,

I have been browsing the site and I am so glad I found this place. I am sure it will be of great help to me.

I have always wanted to do leather work and finally took a Tandy class about 6 weeks ago. I need to get good relatively quickly because I want to be able to do high end knife sheaths for a friend's custom knife company. I also have an interest in motorcycle seat making and generally any leather project that I see and think "I can do that."

Any who...glad to be here. I will be writing often.

Welcome Nixon66. This is a great place to get help starting and growing your skills. And, best of luck with "need to get good relatively quickly ". A lot of that will depend what you already can do and on the level of detail you want in the sheaths. Plenty of bonified experts here that are willing to help.

God, Family, and Country (although liberals are attempting to destroy these in the USA)

Hill Country!!??? I'm from there, Comfort, to be exact.

Welcome aboard Nix, you'll learn a lot here.

And look up Paul Long in Kerrville, he's a Major Leauger sheath maker, and a really nice guy.

Thanks for the nice welcome and the encouragement. I live in Burnet, Texas 50 or so miles NW of Austin.

I have been to the Tandy class already and have been working on my technique. I think I am ready to start some actual projects.
