MackProvisions Report post Posted June 5, 2022 New in my shop is a Singer 111w155 (needle feed). I want to be able use the pictured swing away edge binder on this machine. I work full time at an upholstery shop and only use Pfaff 1245's. These Pfaff has two holes in their cover plates to screw in these edge binders. Does anyone have any suggestions? Should I tap and die in holes? Or, maybe there's aftermarket plates with the existing threaded holes for binders like this? Thank you!
cynthiab Report post Posted June 5, 2022 (edited) I'm interested in this too. If anyone has any thoughts or suggestions, I'm all ears! I have also noticed the screw hole is pretty big. Edit: I just found this - I think it will help some... I htin Edited June 5, 2022 by cynthiab
nylonRigging Report post Posted June 5, 2022 You going to have to drill and Tap for best mounting results on the R-side slide plates. you will be guaranteed also to take it off, and re-drill and tap again, to fine-tune it's position . But if screw it up or not happy, is no biggie , because L and R-side slide plates are easy to get and cheep for the old singers . Start by trimming/notching the R-side of presser foot toe, to get a good starter point for the binders position . also dremel trim off flush, the underside of the bolt sticking threw . so plate will slide in and out , and also not to interfere with the bobbins movement . When you get Binder into working position, tight into presser foot Notch you cut . You will probably also cut/shorted the length of the material push Bar that tails off the exit of the binders Throat . and also might have to trim the bottom some to make sure it clean and not tagging the feed dogs on their up-lift movement . . Like nylonRigging I would drill and tap two holes to accept 4mm x 0.7 thumb screws in the slide plate. The hole size for a 4mm x 0.7 screw would be 3.4mm. kgg
