If anyone has ever wanted to give a go at Shoe making but felt a bit intimidated, I feel ya. I found a company called SneakerKit that sets you up with everything you need. Watch my build along and make yourself an awesome pair of leather shoes.

Well, well, well... ain't that ever neat. And I see one of my main suppliers in Canada carries their stuff, so even neater.

Thanks for posting. I'm looking forward to making myself a pair.

60 dollars US for the kit, eh? Interesting....B)  That's a really clever idea to sell just the rubber soles.
Not a bad pair of casual custom shoes you got there!

I hear ya, might seem pricey for us leatherworkers who already have a good knowledge base, but just to clarify, it comes with the outer soles, insoles, needle/thread and downloadable pattern for the shoes. Well worth the experience and knowledge gained during the build.

I hope you have a blast, this is one of those projects that sets you up for many more to come with ease, being able to add your own custom touch.

Yeah, well. After stepping on an aluminium template and puncturing my toe—my place is carpeted and not s'sposed to wear outside shoes in it—I was trying to find crepe soles to make myself a pair of mocasins or something I could indeed use to protect my feet and not soil the carpet, and the only place I could find the material was Tandy: ~$30 for a sheet with barely enough for a pair, plus ~$25 shipping :rolleyes2:... and still having to buy or make the insole... $60 looks like a bargain.
