Hi.  I Tried to do a search on the forum for any mention of the XTool laser family, but no luck.  Does anyone use this brand xTool D1 Pro to cut out their leather?

A new model just came out, but I wanted to see if the older 10w model does the job, so I don't have to drop another $500 or so on it.

I would love to create sharp inner cuts that I just cannot do cleanly enough with a knife.

TIA

I think you'd be much better off with a co2 laser. these diode laser just not powerful enough to cut heavy leather

I don't know if a diode is powerful enough to cut leather efficiently but you'll definitely generate a LOT of smoke doing the vector cuts along with that strong odor. I cut 6oz veg-tan often on my 50w C02 which is hooked up to a commercial blower. I can't imagine wanting to laser cut leather with a non-enclosed system.
