Cecil Posted February 11, 2008 Report Posted February 11, 2008 (edited) I trace my patterns on to tracing paper or clear mylar that you get at Tandy and then cover it with clear shelf paper. The shelf paper has a sticky back. I can use the pattern over and over again. For figure carving belts, I do my background and do individual figures. I can use the same background and change the figures and the placement for each belt. Edited February 11, 2008 by Cecil Quote
Members Randy Cornelius Posted February 11, 2008 Members Report Posted February 11, 2008 You can also use the clear shelf paper when carving. Apply clear shelf paper to the back of your leather to keep from stretching while carving. It does not leave a sticky surface when you remove it. You can also rubber cement it to a pice of plexiglass also to keep the rubber cement off the back of your leather. Randy Quote
