What is RTC Sheridan Resist & Finish

Recommended Posts

I bought a billfold kit from Weaver Leather. In the items needed it said Bee Natural Leather Care RTC Sheridan Resist & Finish. This product has a very poor description and instructions. What does it do and when do you apply it? I would like to basket stamp the billfold.

I have a small bottle of RTC resist and it works really well at blocking things like letters when I am antiquing or Hi-liting a project. With the RTC resist, the antique doesn't penetrate the coated areas. It also appears to resist a light application of alcohol dye, but only if I apply two or three coats of RTC and let them dry.

I have used this product and I think it works well as a resist and finish.  It is an acrylic so there is no fumes like other products.  Drying time might take a bit longer. I have used it both as a resist prior to antiquing and as a final finish.  At this point it’s  “all good”
