Pwhughes79 Report post Posted April 22, 2023 I have been doing hobby leatherwork for a little over a year now, and I really enjoy it! Recently a firefighter friend of mine approached me and asked if I would be willing to make him a parade shield for his chief and a regular working shield for him. I told him I would look into it but didn't promise anything. Is there anyone who would be willing to share any files or information about styles and dimensions? I would really appreciate any help. I like a challenge, and making these shields I think will be a good challenge. Thank you in advance.
Dwight Report post Posted April 22, 2023 Get him to bring you an example . . . that will be far more informative for you than most anything you can get here. Measure it . . . height, width and most importantly . . . thickness. Measure it with a caliper . . . and use that same thickness when you carve an illustrate his info on them. I can do that kind of work . . . but I really find it a bit too tedious for me . . . patience wears thin for me on that kind of project. Also why I don't do basket weave unless I have to. May God bless, Dwiight
