serhu Report post Posted May 18, 2023 (edited) Hello all, I own a 307G2 and a 491. Well about the 491 it is perfect, I found a service manual and the timing is right. But... I am not able to time the 307G2; I bought it already not working and the rotary hook keep the thread so it get 2 or 3 round then It broke. Please anyone can help me ? I read that it is a really good machine but not for me... I found the timing mark on needle bar and revised the cardan. I am able to rset the rotary hook time but I don't know what is the right timing. Many thanks to anyone that can help me and any help will be apreciated. Constabulary Report post Posted May 19, 2023 (edited) The timing is the same as for the Singer 107w or 143w cause they are using the same hook. Difference is that the 307G2 has the hook drive gears covered in a grease filled gear box but thats not relevant for the timing. Hope this helps: Also check this thread - as I said before the hook is the same on 143w and 307G2: Edited May 19, 2023 by Constabulary

serhu Report post Posted May 22, 2023 Hello, well... the timing (as anticipated) is and was correct. After polished the rotary hook and the bobbin nail lock things got better, the thread slips correctly. BUT there are some other thinking I would like to share. Speed is low, if I get faster i broke the thread. It seems do not accept (like) thick thread, it breaks. The major guilty is the nail that lock the bobbin, it seems to be difficult to pass it... I ordered another one, let's will see. Any suggestions ? Thank you.
serhu Report post Posted June 6, 2023 UPDATE (if anyone is interested in) I bought the bobbin lock code 210764 from China. The sewing machine works better. Maybe a defective item from Singer ? I am going to engine it. Regards.
