fredk Report post Posted June 4, 2023 Repurposing is far better than recycling Wishing you a quick eye and steady sewing on these projects
SUP Report post Posted June 4, 2023 Those are beautiful. I love recycling. You are doing such a great job of it. I love what you did with the boots. what a great idea. makes me want to look for similar boots as well! I buy old handbags if I like the design and plan to make similar ones, using the hardware in those purses. So I get both the pattern and the hardware. There are so many beautiful handmade things out there that are old and used but can be beautifully repurposed! Recycling is the fashion as well, these days. Frodo Report post Posted June 6, 2023 41 minutes ago, SUP said: Brilliant! When I cut the pocket off the old purse i take care to leave the stitches in the holes. Zoom the above purse. I left the tan stitches and restitched with red giving it a contrast or something. I do not know everything it just looks good to me the cut stitches are held in place by using liquid electrical tape
SUP Report post Posted June 6, 2023 That's why the 2 colors. And liquid electrical tape. Did not hear about it before today. Must look into its uses. Uttam will be interested. When you use old purses, how do you get rid of the smell? That is one thing I have difficulty with. Some get clean fast, others not so.

Handstitched Report post Posted June 9, 2023 I found some pretty good stuff in ' op shops' ( thrift shops) over the years . I've found some really good and unusual belt buckles too. I'm all in favour of re-using, re-purposing . Too much goes into waste. Well done on that HS
