Edge paint pull off.

Recommended Posts

Well it seems that I have some things left to learn.

I have used the tried and true edge finishing methods for many years.
However I stumble upon a edge that someone has posted photos of here at LW. The edge was glossy and you could see each layer of leather. It was beautiful!

in my efforts to improve my skills I have often invested lots of time and money into new products and methods that I hope will increase my skills.

To the NEXT, level.

here is a photo of one such venture.
I used clear edge paint and a new electric fileteuse.
My results were not what was hoping for. The edge paint bubbled and the fileteuse didn’t seem to affect the edge at all.

plus my greatest disappointment. The fricking edge paint just pulled off.
so if anyone has some tips to help me master my new investment, please feel free to share your thoughts.

thanks

Joel

i doubt very much that they used edge paint to achieve that finish.
more likely time spent burnishing and polishing
