Frodo Report post Posted January 21 Does anyone have any tips on sewing the gusset on a bag? Specifically on the bottom of the bag on the corners i seem to be hit and miss on this area 2bags, on the left turned out good on the right is a cluster freak, machine fought me around the corner and it looks bad
bruce johnson Report post Posted January 21 I use a stirrup plate on my machine. Goes around that corner much easier
DieselTech Report post Posted January 21 I'm no help! But I do have a question? Is a bag like that sewed inside out & then flipped after the sewing is complete? Thanks.
Frodo Report post Posted January 21 No, normally I do flip them inside out thst us not the look I wanted because of the thickness of the leather imo, inside out looks really good on a thin l leather but on a thicker leather the edge would overwhelm the look of the bag 4 hours ago, bruce johnson said: I use a stirrup plate on my machine. Frodo Report post Posted January 21 @DieselTech here is the bag, it is 10” long see why I think a rolled edge would be funky?

I am no pro and am learning i should have used a thinner leather but that color and the feel of it was the reason i prefer not using a gusset, use a 4” x2” cut out
