Antique wooly chaps

I have a set of antique woolies that have a musky odor and some mold. What is the best way to kill all of the mold and remove the odor? Specifically in the hair, it is 3-4” long maybe Mongolian or Tibetan.  Thanks!

I don't remember who it was . . . supposed to be a well known western figure of the latter 1800's . . . 

Was one tough hombre . . .  and a hard nosed cowboy himself . . . 

When asked how he died . . . the answer was, he laughed himself to death when he saw a "store bought cowboy . . . in a 10 gallon hat . . . wearing wooly chaps"

Sixty years ago I could have told ya who he was . . . have long since forgotten . . . just always remembered that mental image . . .

To answer the OP; try a shampoo meant for shaggy dogs. Apply lightly with warm water and a sponge. Comb out using a curry comb, sponge and paper towel dry and finally hang out where a good breeze will finish the drying

I have a tack business, and sell sheepskin saddlepads.  I suggest to my customers that they should wash with "PePeDe" or "Leather Therapy" wash.  They are formulated for leather.
