Lakil7 Report post Posted May 17 Hello Forum, hope you are well. I have a n Adler 30-1 that has been sewing beautifully, but now it is skipping stitches on the top thread. Does anyone know why this might be the case. Hoping to get some feedback. Thank you
Constabulary Report post Posted May 17 needle not correctly insert, worn hook tip, needle - hook timing needs to be checked & adjusted (see manual), hook tip too far away from needle... there could be many reasons.
Northmount Report post Posted May 17 Not enough presser foot pressure if the leather is lifting the foot on the needle's upstroke is another cause. It destroys the loop the hook is trying to grab, skipping a stitch or multiple stitches.
Lakil7 Report post Posted May 17 Thank you guys so much for the insight. I'll see if can apply your ideas to trying to remedy the problem, and post what my results were. Much appreciated.
Lakil7 Report post Posted June 16 Hello again to all and happy Father's Day. I am checking in again with my problem of my Adler 30-1 skipping stitches. I took in the insight and advice of people who responded to my thread, but still having the problem. I find that if I hand crank without using the motor I get better results, but the machine will still skip a stitch occasionally but not as much as when I used the motor. I have not attempted to make any adjustments to the needle-hook timing yet but am wondering if anyone else might have some insight or advice. I really need to get this machine stitching great again, as I depend on it a lot for my work. Thanking you in advance.
