KSpainhour Report post Posted May 30 My 145 problems continue. Its a 145 6/1 H3 CLMNP When I bought the machine it had a broken welting foot on it and a broken but working needle bar along with all of the other problems. (In hind sight this should have been a clue) I purchased a set of presser feet from amazon. Of course they didn't fit correctly. With a little bit of grinding and polishing they sort of fit and work. I replaced the needle bar and adjusted it for the 134/35 needles that the manual calls for. It seems to sew ok. Then I purchased a welting foot. With the presser foot raised, the needle bar hits the top of the outside foot. If I adjust the needle bar up so that it doesn't hit I'm pretty sure the hook will not catch the thread. So do I switch to the MTX 190 needles and adjust the needle bar? (I'm not sure this will gain enought clearance) I don't currently have any MTX190 needles and have already purchased several 135/35 needles. Or modify the chinese welting foot? With the fitment of the other set of feet I question the dimensions of the welting foot. It looks like I would have to grind quite a bit off of the top of the foot and bevel the inside. Thanks for reading, Keith

Buy one pack of ten needles in a size and point that you'd use the most. If it works okay, buy the other sizes you'll need in System 190. Beware, thinner needles deflect more easily on this long system.
fibersport Report post Posted May 30 I'm not trying to be condescending but have you tried looking for the correct presser feet? I had gotten an edge guide presser foot for my Pfaff and it would not fit even though the ad for said it would,. I could have made it work but I found another brand that worked perfectly, it too said it would fit a Pfaff. It isn't easy but you can find parts that will actually fit a Pfaff. CKPSMS was the brand that worked for me, I know they do have other presser feet that they say will work with a Pfaff but I have not tried them. Keep in mind the model number of the one that worked for me had 1245 in the part number which I take it to mean it would for a Pfaff 1245 machine. KSpainhour Report post Posted May 31 Not condescending at all. I appreciate all of the help. This is the foot that hits the needle bar https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GRQ7MVW?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details I have ordered the 190 needles to try. The other presser feet that were a bad fit were these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07R1W5C4G?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details They will work, but they are just low quality. They are the CKPSMS brand. The double toe seemed to be the worst. I had to grind clearance in the rear of the outside foot. Two of outside feet had screw holes that were too small. I hand enlarge the holes to get the presser bar sholder screw to fit. All of the inside feet mounting holes are oversized and a sloppy fit. I ordered another single toe foot from ebay. I was another brand. I don't know what brand, but it has a diamond shaped logo with triangles inside on the parts. Both of the parts fit much better. Does anybody know what brand has the diamond logo?

KSpainhour Report post Posted June 1 The MTx190 needles came in mail today. I put one in and adjusted the needle bar. It works fine. It has enough clearance. I think the 190 needles will fix the problem. Thanks for all of the help. Keith

KSpainhour Report post Posted June 3 I did have to raise it up. It is just about maxed out. The needle set screw "almost" hits the needle bar frame. It looks like there is a notch in the frame for the needle set screw to go up into but the replacement needle bar has the screw in a different place. Oh well, it works for now. Thanks for all of your help.
