How thick?? What size of thread do you want to use??? Are the machines being offered by an individuals or companies??? Personally I wouldn't choose either I would prefer to look for something with a wider range of thread selection as I think all three would limit the thread size selection to V92 max. I would suggest finding a Juki or clone as replacement parts and accessories are easier and cheaper to find. kgg

The machines are offered by private sellers, I am not sewing anything very thick such as tanned leather, I am sewing a lot of vinyl and leather of a thickness similar to vinyl, I would like to spend no more than 1100 just on a head. Constabulary Report post Posted August 5 (edited) I´d choose the BROTHER - clone of a Singer 153w (but with reverse) or the later Seiko CW-8 and / or Consew 227R. Its a Singer based machine and parts will be available probably for ever and the accessories like presser feet sets are cheap.
