Ackerman-Gould Triumph embosser

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I am new to the forum. I am an accordion repair technician and today I purchased a large lot of old  accordion repair parts that included a tool called an Ackerman-Gould Triumph. It appears to be a hot leather embosser and it came with a wooden box of monogram dies. It seems to be a complicated machine. How can I test to see if it works? I do some leather work involving accordion belts and straps, so an embosser might be useful for my businss if it works. Does anyone have experience with this machine? Any advice would be appreciated.

Can you post a few pictures of it. I am betting somewhere here has seen 1 & can give you some more info on it.

Thanks.

Thanks for your reply. I just found instructions inside the cover of the box of monogram dies. It looks like there is a mechanism for advancing a roll of foil on  the back of the machine. I was able to get the mechanism and rollers to move via the ratchet on the left rear. It moves the rubber wheels as the dies are lowered with the handle. I am mot sure how the roll is mounted on the top of the machine.

Thanks very much! Yes, this is very similar to mine. My thermometer is a little different. My parts list is actually a little more complete, since I have two of the die holders. It is encouraging to see how nicely this machine cleans up. It looks like I will have some work to do with my buffer. I really appreciate your help!
